Receipts 1 has reliably supported you with your receipt management for years. Receipts Space is our next major step – built for requirements that go beyond classic receipt scanning.

How to switch

Download Receipts Space. After signing in, your free 14-day trial starts, during which you can try out all features – including with your existing Receipts 1 library.

1. Prepare

Create a backup copy of your Receipts 1 library. The most important step – costs nothing, settles everything.

Think about the storage location. If you want to access the same library from multiple devices, it needs to be in a shared location (iCloud Drive, Dropbox, network drive). Better to make this decision now than after the migration.

2. Migrate the library

1. In Receipts Space, select “Open Library” and choose your Receipts 1 file
2. Read the dialog and confirm
3. Choose the storage location for the new library

Optional: enable encryption.

3. Adjust

Reconfigure local settings. Observed folders as well as report and export settings are not carried over and need to be set up once in Receipts Space.

Update mail rules. Receipts Space is a standalone app, not a new version of Receipts – scripts that previously called Receipts will otherwise stop working. The matching script is installed automatically; you just need to select it in each affected rule:

Apple Mail → Settings → Rules → open rule → under Run AppleScript, choose the new Receipts Space script → save.

Clean up documents without amounts. Have you filed documents without amounts as receipts in Receipts 1? In Receipts Space, filter for receipts without amounts, select them all, right-click, and change the type of all entries at once to “Document”.

4. Decide

Take your time to see whether Receipts Space fits your needs.

Like it? Nothing more to do – your subscription starts after the 14-day trial.

Not the right fit? Cancel within the trial period. Your Receipts 1 library is unchanged, and you simply continue working in Receipts 1 as before.
